Eric and I have moved states—we are officially Washingtonians… Washingtonites??? Haha, I’m not sure which is correct, but we live in Washington now!
Eric has begun his new career as a Geotechnical Engineer, and I’m busy continuing to support female equestrians in becoming the strongest, most confident versions of themselves while making their horses a part of the process.
With our move and all that it has entailed, I’ve had to put a pause on my plans for the rest of the year, including attending more endurance rides.
It was a hard decision to make, but if endurance has taught me anything, it’s patience through unexpected changes. Even though this season has come to an abrupt halt, I’m excited to share what I have planned for next year.
I just turned 29, and as a friend reminded me, this is my last year in my 20s! 🤯
As I’ve been thinking about that fact and how quickly time has gone by, I know I don’t want to let this year slide by without acknowledging this milestone. So, even though this season has been cut short, I have some big goals for the next season with my little miss Sandra-Dee—
We’ll be aiming to cover 300 miles of sanctioned endurance rides.
This is a big undertaking; it’ll push us both, but I think we’re more than ready for it! However, I know that a big piece of this goal relies heavily on Sandy and how she feels and performs throughout the next season—and just like this season has shown, there can be unexpected roadblocks to the best-laid plans. So, I’m also setting a very difficult goal for myself that doesn’t rely on another being to help me reach it—
I am also setting the goal to run 30 miles of sanctioned races before my next birthday.
If you don’t know me well, I’m not the best runner… This goal will be a huge stretch for me as I work through some anxieties, push through mental blocks, and train to run farther than ever at each race. Not only will this goal push me physically, but it will also challenge me mentally, and I’m excited to take it on!
I will be doing my best to document my journey this year with both of these goals, so be sure to follow me so you don’t miss out!
